What a swell party!
WHAT a party!
Residents from all 11 SheffCare homes came together with day care clients and staff to hold a good old-fashioned Christmas knees up.
There was dinner and music, a festive raffle and a range of entertainment, as SheffCare held its annual Christmas bash.
And despite a combined age stretching into the thousands, everybody got up to dance, in a rare opportunity for people from care homes across the city to get together.
But it was the cakes that proved to be the high point of the day.
Every one of our homes – from Foxhill to Hackenthorpe – brought a cake along to the event at Colley Working Men’s Club.
And there was keen competition to see which home had produced the best one.
Diana Oak, Sheffcare’s quality and assurance training manager, said: “It was great fun. Everybody brought cakes and everybody wanted to see who had baked the best.
“It was an excellent afternoon. People had a great time and everybody was up and dancing at some point.
“The decorations were provided by the Sheffcare team. Everybody thought they were fantastic.”
