Castelayn
Castelayn offers excellent care in a purpose built residential home over three floors. Each corridor is individualised offering comfortable single bedrooms and easy access to lounge and dining areas and a range of bathing facilities. To ensure you gain a sense of home you may wish to furnish your bedroom with your own pieces of furniture and other personal items. If you want, we can arrange for you to have a telephone point so that you may stay in regular contact with your family and friends.
There are smaller residents kitchens where you, a relative or a friend may make a cup of tea or share a meal. There is a larger communal area where you can have family get-togethers, enjoy regular activities and entertainment with other residents or just have a chat. Castelayn benefits from an activity room with a pool table, a range of board games and computers with internet access; allowing you to keep in touch with family and friends wherever they may be in the world. In addition to the television lounges, Castelayn has quiet rooms where you can sit and read without being disturbed.
If you wish we can arrange the delivery of your favourite morning newspapers or magazine or the local papers.
Castelayn has its own room dedicated to hairdressing, with a local hairdresser visiting every Monday, although if you prefer, your own hairdresser may also use the room. A beauty therapist visits once a fortnight, offering manicures and pamper sessions. You can book an appointment with a physiotherapist who visits once a month and offers massages in the comfort of your own room; helping to ease your aches and pains.
The home has its own easily accessible garden area where you can tend to the pruning of the plants or just sit and enjoy the fresh air.
At Castelayn we are not just a residential home. Other services include:
• day care facility
• meals ( to take home or to enjoy at Castelayn)
• short term or overnight care (respite)
• escorted hospital visits or doctor’s appointments
• specially adapted baths and help with bathing
• help with shopping or your laundry
• help with sorting out funding and finance
• wheelchair loans
