Deerlands
Deerlands, consistently rated as 'Good' by the Care Quality Commission, the health and social care regulator for England, offers excellent care in comfortable surroundings. You will have your own bedroom with shared facilities on your corridor. To ensure that you feel at home you may also wish to furnish your bedroom with your own pieces of furniture.
Deerlands feels cosy and personal with a number of corridors all on one floor; each with their own dining and sitting areas. There are smaller residents’ kitchens where you, a relative or a friend can make a cup of tea or a light snack. There is also a larger communal area where you can get together with other residents for entertainment, activities or just a chat. In addition to its television lounges Deerlands has quiet rooms where you can sit and read your paper with no disturbances.
Deerlands has its own room dedicated to hairdressing with a local hairdresser visiting 2 ½ days during the week. The residential home also has its own easily accessible garden area where you can sit and enjoy the fresh air.
At Deerlands we are not just a residential home though. Other services include:
• day care facility
• short term or overnight care (respite)
• escorted hospital visits or doctor’s appointments
• specially adapted baths and help with bathing (including for non-residents)
• help with shopping or laundry
• help with sorting out funding and finance
So, if you are the carer or relative of an older person and would like to take some time away, we will ensure you can go safe in the knowledge that you loved one is in safe hands. We can give you the help and care you need, when you need it.
