Hello, my name is David Minton, I am the Registered manager at Housteads residential care home based at Handsworth. I have a total of 33 years experience in the care sector. I have worked as a Registered Manager with SheffCare for the last 15 years.
I started my career working with people with learning disabilities on a voluntary basis attached to a hospital. I began working for Sheffield City Council as a care worker, and over the next 10 years moved on to become Assistant Principal and then a Deputy Principal.
I have a relevant qualification in Management, hold the RMA (Registered Managers Award) and an NVQ Level 4 in Care. I am both an accredited NVQ Assessor and an Internal Verifier. A firm believer in continued personal and professional development, I recently completed a formal teaching qualification in further education. When not at work I enjoy kayaking, love dog walking and outdoor photography and I hold a diving qualification. At home I enjoy good wine, relaxing and listening to music.
