Hello, I am Rod MacAskill, Cotleigh's Registered Manager. I graduated from Sheffield University in 1981 with an Honours Degree in Classics. Unsure as to what path I wanted to follow I had a range of positions which included working for Bassetlaw Health Authority as a Senior Pathology technician, based at Bassetlaw Hospital in Worksop. I started working for Sheffield City Council in 1992 as a domestic assistant at Burnt Tree Croft.
I soon realised I had found the area in which I wanted to stay, I quickly climbed the ladder becoming Team leader at Grange Crescent; Senior Team Leader at Primrose View and Grange Crescent; temporary Manager at Grange Crescent and then I was successful in securing a Registered Manager post at Park Grange. During this time I gained my Registered Managers Award (RMA). I now have gained extensive experience over 18 years within the care sector.
I have worked for SheffCare for eight years and have managed Grange Crescent; Park Grange; Knowle Hill; Midhurst Road and am now happily settled at Cotleigh.
