Springwood, consistently rated as 'Excellent by the Care Quality Commission, the health and social care regulator for England, offers exceptional care in comfortable surroundings, over three floors, it feels cosy and personal; two floors of which are specially designed to offer a secure and supportive environment for those with dementia. You will have your own bedroom with shared facilities on your corridor. To ensure that you feel at home you may also wish to furnish your bedroom with your own pieces of furniture and ornaments. Each floor has its own dining and sitting areas. There are smaller family kitchens where you, a relative or a friend can make a cup of tea or a light snack. There is also a larger communal area where you can get together with other residents for entertainment, activities or just a chat. In addition to its television lounges Springwood has music rooms where daily life skills support and activities are carried out and quiet rooms where you can sit and read your paper with no disturbances.
The home also has its own hairdressing and beauty room with a local hairdresser visiting two days during the week.
Springwood benefits from easily accessible garden areas where you can sit and enjoy the fresh air and in the warmer months participate in outdoor activities.
At Springwood we are not just a residential home. Other services include:
• day care facility
• short term or overnight care
• escorted hospital visits or doctor’s appointments
• specially adapted baths and help with bathing
• help with shopping or laundry
